Pharmacy UGM – On Friday (24/1), the Professional Pharmacist Program of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held a guest lecture featuring Maulina Sriwiduri, the Technical Director of Moriko Global, as the keynote speaker. The event was aimed at pharmacy profession students to broaden their knowledge about career opportunities in the pharmaceutical field, both in the corporate sector and entrepreneurship.
In the guest lecture titled Hybrid Career: Corporate vs Entrepreneur, Maulina Sriwiduri shared her career journey as a Regulatory Affairs Pharmacist at Roche Diagnostic, Japan, and her role in Moriko Global, a consulting company focused on market access, research, product development, and certification.
Additionally, the speaker provided insights on how to search for a job in Japan, including the necessary requirements, skills to master, and challenges faced by foreign workers in the Japanese pharmaceutical industry. Students received information about pathways into global pharmaceutical companies, the importance of professional certifications, and the role of the Japanese language and professional networks in securing job opportunities.
The session also highlighted entrepreneurship opportunities in Japan for pharmacy graduates. Maulina Sriwiduri explained how Moriko Global supports businesses with market access, regulations, and certifications, and how pharmacy graduates can leverage these opportunities to build their own ventures.
Through interactive discussions, students were encouraged to explore various career paths and understand the best strategies for facing global competition in the pharmaceutical industry. This guest lecture is expected to inspire UGM’s Professional Pharmacist students to plan their career steps, whether as professionals in multinational companies or as entrepreneurs in the pharmaceutical field.
This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) in enhancing human resource capacity, and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by opening students’ horizons to global job and entrepreneurship opportunities. (Rita/HumasFA)
