Yogyakarta, August 6, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has officially welcomed the new students of the 2025/2026 academic year, known as Gadjah Mada Muda (Gamada), through the PIONIR Papyrus 2025 orientation event series. This event aims to introduce the academic and student life environment and to instill UGM’s values, shaping them into intellectuals at the “Kampus Pancasila.”
The event was officially opened in the 8th-floor Auditorium of the Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences Learning Center (APSLC). A warm welcome was delivered by the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Prof. Dr.rer.nat.apt. Endang Lukitaningsih, M.Si. Also present at the opening ceremony was the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. apt. Nanang Munif Yasin, M.Pharm.
“Welcome, Gamada, to the Kampus Pancasila,” said Prof. Endang in her address. “PIONIR Papyrus is not just an introduction to the campus environment, but an initial gateway for you to become intellectuals with integrity, responsibility, and readiness to contribute to the nation’s health. Take advantage of every moment here to learn, grow, and innovate.”
To equip the new students with insights from both academia and industry, an Inspirational Figures Talkshow was held, featuring two expert speakers: apt. Kartika Martha Lisa, S.Farm., the Director of PT. Dermavous Essensia Utama, and Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Adam Hermawan, S.Farm., M.Sc., a Professor at the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy specializing in Macromolecule Engineering.
The event continued with a guidance session where PIONIR Papyrus 2025 facilitators presented crucial material on the theme of 3R (Rules, Respect, Responsibility). In this session, new students were provided with a deep understanding of student conduct, academic regulations, the importance of academic integrity, and the consequences of academic dishonesty and misconduct within the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy. The day’s activities concluded with “Jelajah Farmasi” (Pharmacy Tour) to introduce the various facilities and laboratories to the new students.
The organization of PIONIR Papyrus 2025 demonstrates the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By producing competent future pharmacists, this activity supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being). The emphasis on academic integrity and clear regulations aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by building a strong and ethical educational institution. Furthermore, by featuring an industry practitioner as an inspiration, the event also promotes SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), preparing students to become a high-quality human resources in the future.
This activity aligns with the general spirit of PIONIR Gadjah Mada, which emphasizes the development of an intellectual attitude that relies on intelligent thinking, maturity in speech and action, is anti-violence (physical, verbal, and mental), and always upholds the values of Pancasila.
