Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada Strengthens Governance and Synergy Through “NgoBat” Open Dialogue with Staff

Yogyakarta, July 25, 2025 — Reaffirming its commitment to building a transparent and inclusive work environment, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted “Ngobrol Bareng Dekanat” (NgoBat), or “A Talk with the Deans’ Office,” on Friday, July 25, 2025. Held in the 8th-floor Auditorium of the APSLC Building, the dialogue forum brought together faculty leadership with all educational support staff to discuss strategic issues and gather direct feedback.

The event was attended by the Deans’ Office leadership, Heads of Laboratories, and Heads of Study Programs. It was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. apt. R.R. Endang Lukitaningsih, M.Si. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of two-way communication in creating solid synergy for institutional advancement. “This NgoBat forum is a tangible manifestation of our participatory governance principles. We believe that the input and aspirations from our staff are invaluable assets for innovating academic and administrative services,” stated Prof. Endang.

The highlight of the event was an interactive discussion session, where crucial topics such as academic management, optimization of administrative services, and human resource development strategies were explored in depth. The staff took this opportunity to provide constructive feedback, which was received directly by the faculty leadership as a basis for evaluation and future policymaking.

During the event, the results of the Staff Satisfaction Survey were also presented, showing an average score of 3.3, which has remained stable compared to 2024. The faculty leadership views this result as a solid foundation and a catalyst for continuously identifying areas for improvement, ensuring that the welfare and professional development of its staff remain a top priority.

Initiatives like NgoBat also underscore the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By fostering a decent and dialogic work environment (SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth), strengthening effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels (SDG 16, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and indirectly improving the management quality of higher education support (SDG 4, Quality Education), the faculty actively contributes to the global sustainable development agenda.
