Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Welcomes Visit from SMAIT As-Syifa Boarding School Subang to Introduce the Academic Environment and University Admission Pathways

Yogyakarta, 4 February 2026 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed an educational visit from SMAIT Asyifa Boarding School Subang on Wednesday (4/2). The group of students and accompanying teachers was warmly received on the 3rd Floor of the Unit IX Graduate Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, as part of an early introduction to UGM admission pathways, university life and the pharmaceutical profession.

The program began with a welcoming session and a presentation delivered by a Faculty of Pharmacy UGM lecturer, Fathul Muin, M.Pharm., Apt. During this session, he provided comprehensive information on the university’s and faculty’s profiles as well as detailed explanations of the admission pathways to Universitas Gadjah Mada, including UM UGM, PBU, SNBP, and SNBT. The presentation aimed to give students a clear overview of strategies and preparations needed to compete successfully for admission to UGM.

Following the discussion and question-and-answer session, the activity continued with a Faculty Tour that allowed participants to directly observe the learning and research facilities. The students visited the Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS) Building on the 5th and 6th floors, followed by tours of laboratory and academic facilities at Unit 4 on the 1st floor (Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry) and Unit 5 on the 2nd floor (Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy). Through this tour, students were able to experience the academic atmosphere firsthand and see the learning infrastructure supporting education and research at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.

The implementation of this educational visit reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s tangible contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This activity integrally supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing transparent access to higher education information for secondary school students, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by inspiring young generations to contribute to the health and pharmaceutical sectors, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as demonstrated through the harmonious collaboration between secondary education institutions and higher education in preparing excellent future human resources.
