Yogyakarta, 5 February 2026 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed a benchmarking visit from Universitas Jember (UNEJ) on Thursday (5/2), from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The visit served as a platform for sharing experiences and strengthening inter-institutional networks among higher pharmacy institutions in Indonesia.
The delegation from Universitas Jember was officially received by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, S.Si., M.Si. In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Satibi expressed his appreciation for UNEJ’s visit and warmly welcomed the initiative for collaboration and knowledge sharing between universities. He emphasized that benchmarking activities play a strategic role in enhancing the quality of education, research, and institutional governance sustainably.
An interactive discussion session was held at the Leadership Meeting Room, 7th Floor of the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. The discussion covered best practices in study program management, laboratory management and explored opportunities for strengthening research collaboration. The benchmarking visit concluded with a laboratory tour, during which the UNEJ delegation had the opportunity to observe firsthand the facilities, research instruments, and workflow implemented at the APS Laboratory.
The program also featured a comprehensive presentation on the Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences (APS) Laboratory delivered by Prof. Dr. apt. Arief Nurrochmad, M.Si., M.Sc., Head of the APS Laboratory. In his presentation, Prof. Arief outlined the laboratory’s management system, infrastructure support, research directions and focus areas, as well as the development journey of the APS Laboratory in becoming a leading pharmaceutical research center.
This benchmarking activity reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education through the strengthening of governance and academic excellence in pharmaceutical higher education, SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through the development of the APS Laboratory as a hub for pharmaceutical research and innovation, and SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration and knowledge exchange among higher education institutions to advance science and sustainable health development.
