Faculty of Pharmacy (FP) UGM received a visit from Deputy Director of Student Development at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) Singapore on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. He was warmly welcomed by the Dean of FP UGM Prof. Dr. Agung Endro Nugroho, M.Si., Apt. along with the Board of Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Triana Hertiani, M.Si., Apt. and Dr. Endang Lukitaningsih, M.Si., Apt. at the Dean’s Office.
Proposing to collaborate in organizing an immersion program, Dr. Koh mentioned, “our students in Singapore are required to attend an overseas immersion program, and we notice that Indonesia particularly Yogyakarta provides a strategic and good environment.” The proposed program is primarily designed to allow the students to develop cultural awareness and to learn about certain topics related to pharmaceutical sciences. In line with the proposed concept, Professor Hertiani briefly described the Jamu Summer Course Program which has been held these past three years and could be tailored to accommodate both students from FP UGM and NP Singapore. The program is to be further discussed with the persons in charge of both institutions in July. The Dean closed the meeting hoped “the program would be sustainable and successful.” (Saras)
