Yogyakarta, 23 December 2025 — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) have carried out follow-up collaboration with PT Rining Prima Putra (RPP) to strengthen the development, testing, and commercialization of research in the fields of cosmetics and health-related products.
Through this collaboration, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM serves as an Advisory Board to PT Rining Prima Putra, represented by Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Endang Lukitaningsih, M.Si. and supported by faculty members with expertise in cosmetic science, including Prof. Dr. apt. Teuku Nanda Saifullah Sulaiman, M.Si. and Dr.Eng. apt. Khadijah, M.Si. Additional members of the advisory board will include medical doctors or clinicians appointed directly by PT RPP.
In terms of clinical testing, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM will act as a liaison and coordinator in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) UGM. Under this mechanism, PT RPP will not need to coordinate directly with FKKMK, as the technical implementation of clinical trials will be managed through designated researchers and persons in charge (PICs) from the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, in accordance with research needs and applicable ethical standards.
As a follow-up to this collaboration, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM will initiate a gathering of cosmetic researchers to facilitate knowledge sharing, curation, and mapping of research outputs with commercialization potential in partnership with PT Rining Prima Putra. This initiative is expected to accelerate research downstreaming, enhance the added value of academic innovations, and contribute meaningfully to both industry and society.
This collaboration contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through strengthened research downstreaming and strategic academia–industry collaboration; SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through the development and testing of safe, high-quality, and evidence-based cosmetic and health products; and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by promoting responsible product development practices focused on quality, safety, and sustainability for consumers and industry.
