Yogyakarta, October 6, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its Postgraduate Program, held a Workshop on Mindfulness and Productivity for Postgraduate Students with the theme “Managing Research Pressure Toward On-Time Graduation.” The event took place at the Workshop Room, Unit IX, 3rd Floor, and was attended by postgraduate students of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, both in-person and online.
This activity was organized as part of the Faculty’s efforts to support students’ mental well-being amidst their demanding academic and research workloads. The workshop featured Diana Setiyawati, S.Psi., MHSc., Ph.D., Psychologist, who presented materials on Basic Literacy of Mental Health and Handling Common Problems commonly encountered by students during their studies. Through the mindfulness approach, participants were guided to understand the importance of self-awareness, stress management, and maintaining balance between academic and personal life.
In addition to the presentation sessions, the workshop also included interactive discussions, Q&A sessions, and group discussions in which participants developed their own personal action plans to be implemented after the event. Through this participatory approach, students were expected to identify sources of stress, develop healthy emotional management strategies, and enhance their focus on carrying out daily academic activities.
Through this initiative, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM reaffirms its commitment not only to producing graduates who excel academically and in research, but also to nurturing individuals with strong mental and emotional balance. Mental health plays a crucial role in academic success, particularly in maintaining consistency and motivation to complete studies on time.
This workshop is expected to have a positive impact on students, both by improving productivity and by fostering a supportive and psychologically healthy learning environment. By understanding and applying the principles of mindfulness, students can become more adaptive to academic pressures and develop effective strategies for achieving their study goals.
As part of Universitas Gadjah Mada’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this activity supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). By strengthening mental health awareness and stress management skills among students, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM actively contributes to creating an inclusive, healthy, and sustainable educational environment.
