Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Explores Product Testing Collaboration with PT Beacons Pharmaceutical Industries

Yogyakarta, 11 March 2026 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada held a meeting with PT Beacons Pharmaceutical Industries to discuss potential collaboration in pharmaceutical product testing. The meeting served as an initial step to explore opportunities for synergy between academia and the pharmaceutical industry in supporting the development and quality assurance of pharmaceutical products. The discussion took place on Wednesday (11/3), at the Leadership Meeting Room (RSP) in the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.

The meeting brought together representatives from the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM who also collaborated with the UGM Academic Hospital (RSA) and PT Beacons Pharmaceutical Industries to discuss various aspects of potential collaboration, particularly regarding the utilization of laboratory facilities, testing capacities, and opportunities for joint clinical trials. The discussion also covered the potential for research and testing support that could meet industry needs while strengthening the role of higher education institutions within the pharmaceutical innovation ecosystem.

From the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, the meeting was attended by lecturers and laboratory staff team, along with the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si. Meanwhile, PT Beacons Pharmaceutical Industries was represented by apt. Drs. Victor S. Ringoringo, S.E., M.Sc. as the General Manager. The synergy between the university and industry is expected to strengthen the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences and generate innovations that are relevant to societal needs.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM welcomed the opportunity to collaborate as part of its efforts to expand international partnerships and enhance academia’s contribution to the development of the pharmaceutical industry. Through constructive collaboration, the partnership is expected to foster knowledge exchange, optimize the use of research facilities, and strengthen the quality of research and pharmaceutical testing services.

This initiative also aligns with the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through improving the quality and safety of healthcare products; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through research collaboration and strengthening pharmaceutical innovation; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the development of strategic partnerships between universities and industry.
