Yogyakarta, November 13, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), organized a Workshop on Writing Review Articles in the Field of Social Pharmacy, attended by postgraduate students. The event took place on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 08.00 to 15.00 WIB, at the Workshop Room, 3rd Floor, Unit 9, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, and was also streamed online via Zoom Meeting.
The workshop featured three academic experts from the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM with extensive experience in research and scientific publication in the social pharmacy field, Prof. Dr. apt. Susi Ari Kristina, M.Kes., apt. M. Rifqi Rokhman, M.Sc., Ph.D., and apt. Hardika Aditama, M.Sc. The session was moderated by Dr. apt. Dwi Endarti, M.Sc.
The main goal of the workshop was to enhance postgraduate students’ capacity in developing review articles, particularly in the field of social pharmacy, which focuses on behavioral, policy, and pharmaceutical service aspects in community contexts. Through this workshop, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of systematic academic writing methods, literature search and synthesis strategies, as well as critical analysis techniques for previous studies, enabling them to produce high-quality review articles that contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical sciences.
In addition to technical writing discussions, the speakers also shared practical experiences in the scientific publication process in nationally and internationally indexed journals. They provided insights on selecting relevant topics, managing references, and structuring manuscripts in accordance with academic standards. Interactive discussions were held both offline and online, allowing students to ask questions and receive direct feedback on their research ideas.
This workshop was a mandatory activity for postgraduate students of the 2025 cohort and optional for those from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts. It is expected to boost postgraduate students’ publication productivity while strengthening a research-based academic culture within the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
The implementation of this workshop also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing students’ academic capacity and scientific literacy, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through improving the quality of pharmaceutical research and publications that contribute to better public health services.
