Pharmacy UGM – Sunday (23/2), As part of its ongoing commitment to improving public health, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy, held a community service event at SMA Negeri 1 Bantul. This initiative aimed to support and appreciate teachers and members of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan for their vital role in advancing education in Indonesia.
The event engaged students from both the Undergraduate Pharmacy Program and the Pharmacist Professional Program, offering a range of health services including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, as well as health education focused on healthy lifestyles and rational drug use. These services were delivered through direct interaction, with faculty members and students providing personal pharmaceutical care consultations alongside the health screenings.
Participants showed enthusiastic interest, highlighting the strong demand for preventive and educational healthcare services, particularly within educational institutions. This initiative also served to strengthen the bond between academia and the community, reinforcing the active role in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM in promoting community health.
This community service aligns with UGM’s commitment to supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 3: to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. Through initiatives like this, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM hopes to raise broader awareness of the importance of regular health check-ups and proper medication use—key steps toward fostering a healthier and more prosperous society.
