Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and PT Mersifarma Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

Pharmacy UGM – On Friday, May 23rd, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) paid an official visit to PT Mersifarma Tirmaku Mercusana, following a previous visit by Mersifarma to the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. The UGM delegation was led by the Dean, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si, accompanied by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si.

The main purpose of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UGM Faculty of Pharmacy and PT Mersifarma, signed by Prof. Satibi and Mr. Matthew Yap, PharmD, BAAS, Vice President of PT Mersifarma. The collaboration includes key programs such as guest lectures by industry practitioners, pharmacist professional internship programs (PKPA), open recruitment, and internship opportunities for undergraduate pharmacy students.

This cooperation aims to expand industry collaboration networks to enhance the quality of education and practical work experience for students, as well as strengthen the synergy between academia and the pharmaceutical industry.

This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth),  and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), promoting collaboration between educational institutions and industry sectors to develop competent human resources ready to compete globally.
