Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada Welcomes Visit from Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS)

Yogyakarta, June 19, 2025 – In the spirit of collaboration and enhancing educational quality, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted a comparative study visit from the Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) on Thursday, June 19, 2025.

The visit, attended by 11 lecturers from the UNS FMIPA Pharmacy Study Program, focused on observing the leading facilities at UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy, namely the Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences (APSC) Laboratory and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) Laboratory. The activity, which began at 1:00 PM (WIB), aimed to share insights and best practices in laboratory management and modern learning methods in the pharmaceutical field.

This comparative study served not only as a platform for knowledge transfer but also as a forum to strengthen and expand the educational cooperation network between the two institutions. This is a tangible implementation of the joint commitment to realize the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (the Three Pillars of Higher Education), particularly in the aspects of education and teaching.

This activity is also in line with the global commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This collaboration directly supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening strategic partnerships between educational institutions. Furthermore, by exchanging insights, both parties contribute to SDG 4 (Quality Education) to enhance the standards of pharmaceutical education. Ultimately, this improvement in quality will produce competent graduates to support the national health system, in line with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

“We warmly welcome our fellow lecturers from FMIPA UNS. Visits like this are crucial for mutually sharing knowledge and experience. Collaboration between higher education institutions is the key to advancing pharmaceutical education in Indonesia and addressing future health challenges,” said a representative from the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy.

Through this strategic collaboration, the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy and the UNS FMIPA Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program are committed to continuously strengthening the role of higher pharmaceutical education in building a healthier and more sustainable future.
