Yogyakarta, 14 August 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed 118 new postgraduate students for the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year in an orientation program designed to introduce them to their study programs and the academic environment. The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., and attended by vice deans, heads of study programs, and academic advisors.
The orientation aimed to provide students with a clear understanding of the faculty’s vision, mission, and goals, while familiarizing them with both the academic and non-academic aspects of university life. Highlights included a faculty and program introduction by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. apt. Nanang Munif Yasin, M.Pharm., a session on UGM’s identity and academic ethics delivered by Dr. Djoko Santosa, M.Si.; and a talk on mental resilience in postgraduate studies by Diana Setiyawati, M.HSc.Psy., Ph.D., from UGM’s Faculty of Psychology.
This program marked an important first step for new students to build a strong foundation not only in their fields of expertise but also in ethics, collaboration, and community spirit. This year’s postgraduate intake includes 21 students in the Master’s in Pharmaceutical Management, 25 in the Master’s in Pharmaceutical Science, 29 in the Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy, and 43 in the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Science. Among them are two international students: one from India in the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences and one from Yemen in the Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
