Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada Strengthens Educational Quality Ahead of the 2025/2026 New Semester Through Evaluation Workshop

Yogyakarta, July 22, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a “Workshop on the Evaluation of Teaching and Learning Activities for the 2024/2025 Even Semester and Preparation for the 2025/2026 Odd Semester” on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Located at the Auditorium on the 8th floor of the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, the event was attended by all faculty lecturers and academic staff to finalize preparations and enhance the quality of the teaching and learning process for the upcoming semester.

The event was officially opened with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of continuous evaluation as a foundation for curriculum innovation and improving the quality of graduates who are prepared to meet the challenges of the times. This workshop serves as a forum for the head of each study program, from the Bachelor’s Degree (S1), Apothecary Profession, Master’s programs (Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy Management, and Clinical Pharmacy), to the Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences program, to present the evaluation results from the last semester and the work plan for the semester ahead.

This activity is relevant for the faculty’s internal purpose and also affirms UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By strengthening the education system (SDG 4, Quality Education), the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy directly contributes to producing reliable health professionals to improve community well-being (SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being). Competent graduates will ultimately drive economic growth through the absorption of a skilled workforce in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries (SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth), reinforcing the strategic role of higher education in national development.

The workshop concluded with a presentation of key takeaways by Prof. Dr. apt. Nanang Munif Yasin, M.Pharm., as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, summarized the important ideas from the discussions as a guide for implementation in the coming semester. It is hoped that the outcomes of this workshop will be optimally implemented to produce pharmacy graduates who are excellent, innovative, and globally competitive.
