Yogyakarta, June 17, 2025 – Reinforcing its position as a center for pharmaceutical science development, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted a pivotal coordination meeting between the Regional Board of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association for the Special Region of Yogyakarta (PD IAI DIY) and leaders of Apothecary Professional Programs (PPA) from across the region. The strategic assembly was held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in the Meeting Hall of the Faculty’s Unit IX Building.
This initiative embodies a spirit of collaboration for common objectives, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, Partnerships for the Goals. The forum united the professional organization with educational institutions that cultivate a high-caliber workforce. A strong synergy between these parties is the cornerstone for ensuring the relevance and quality of pharmaceutical education in the modern era.
Furthermore, the meeting directly supports the achievement of SDG 4, Quality Education. Through focused discussion and the alignment of programs, IAI DIY and PPA institutions are working to elevate curriculum standards, learning methodologies, and the core competencies of pharmacy graduates. This approach ensures that graduating pharmacists are not only practice-ready but also adaptable to ongoing advancements in health science and technology.
Ultimately, these efforts are aimed at advancing SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being. Competent and professional pharmacists stand on the frontline, guaranteeing safe, effective, and responsible pharmaceutical services for the community. This collaboration ensures that Yogyakarta continues to produce reliable healthcare practitioners capable of improving the overall standard of public health.
Dr. apt.
