Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada Conducts Benchmarking Visit to Faculty of Engineering to Strengthen Commitment to Achieving Zona Integritas

Yogyakarta, July 10, 2025 – To accelerate the development of an Integrity Zone (ZI) towards achieving a Corruption-Free Zone (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Zone (WBBM), the Faculty of Pharmacy at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) conducted a benchmarking visit to the UGM Faculty of Engineering. The activity, which took place on Thursday, July 10, 2025, is a strategic step to learn best practices and absorb direct experience from a work unit that has been progressive in implementing bureaucratic reform.

The development of an Integrity Zone is a national priority agenda carried out by all government institutions, including universities. The UGM Faculty of Pharmacy is fully committed to the success of this program by preparing all its work units to align with the principles of integrity, accountability, and excellent public service. The UGM Faculty of Engineering was chosen as the benchmarking destination due to its track record as one of the leading faculties in ZI development within UGM.

The Head of the Administration Office of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy, Andrian Dion Priadi, S.Kom, who led the delegation, stated, “We want to learn from the success that has been achieved by the Faculty of Engineering. This internal synergy within UGM is key to accelerating our process of building a system that is not only transparent and accountable but also oriented towards excellent service. This is our effort to obtain a tangible picture of an effective and sustainable ZI implementation strategy.”

The event, which ran from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB, included an audience with the Faculty of Engineering’s ZI Team, a presentation on ZI implementation, in-depth discussion sessions, document studies, and visits to several service areas. The delegation from the Faculty of Pharmacy comprised team leaders from administration, finance, and academic fields, as well as key staff from human resources, quality assurance, and public relations to ensure a comprehensive transfer of knowledge.

This initiative not only strengthens the faculty’s internal governance but also aligns with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The development of the ZI is a real manifestation of SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by creating an effective, accountable, and corruption-free bureaucracy. This effort directly improves the quality of governance in an educational institution, which is essential for achieving SDG 4 (Quality Education). Furthermore, this inter-faculty collaboration exemplifies the spirit of SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), which emphasizes the importance of strategic cooperation to achieve development targets effectively.
