Yogyakarta, September 22, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed representatives from PT Etana Biotechnologies Indonesia to explore opportunities for strategic collaboration in research and development. This visit is a continuous step in bringing together the strengths of both institutions to advance pharmaceutical innovation in Indonesia, after previously carrying out several collaborations in various fields.
The event, which took place at the RSP 7th Floor APSLC Faculty of Pharmacy Building, was attended by Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Raden Rara Endang Lukitaningsih, S.Si., Deputy Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, who opened the meeting. Representing PT Etana Biotechnologies Indonesia were Christian Karol Saputra (Etana Innovation Center Manager), Happy Monda Pintauli (Quality Control Manager), dan Eva Selenia Desi (Analytical Science & Technology Supervisor).
The visit focused on discussing collaboration plans, including the joint use of research facilities. The series of activities began at 9:00 a.m. with the following agenda: (1) Opening meeting to discuss collaboration plans; (2) Visit to the UGM LPPT Animal Testing Facility and the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy; (3) Discussion and question-and-answer session to explore potential collaborations.
This collaboration is expected to support several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being, through the development of new, more effective, and affordable medicines and therapies. Additionally, this partnership aligns with SDG 9, Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by promoting sustainable research and innovation. The collaboration between academia and industry also strengthens SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals, by building a strong synergy between UGM and PT Etana to achieve shared progress in the pharmaceutical sector.
