Yogyakarta, 29 January 2026 — In an effort to support digital transformation and enhance the professional competence of lecturers and academic staff, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a training session titled “Utilizing Microsoft Teams for Video Meetings, Collaboration, and Project Management” on Thursday (29/1). The session was conducted in a hybrid format (both in-person and online), featuring experts from UGM’s Directorate of Information Technology (DTI) as speakers.
This training was organized to strengthen the mastery of effective and integrated digital collaboration platforms to support academic activities, administration, and collaborative work within the Faculty of Pharmacy environment. Microsoft Teams was chosen as the primary focus because it is one of the essential applications used at UGM to facilitate video meetings, document collaboration, team communication, and project-based management within a single digital ecosystem.
The training modules covered an introduction to Microsoft Teams and its key features, the effective use of the platform for online meetings, structured document collaboration and team communication, and the utilization of Microsoft Teams to support project management. The material was delivered through a blend of conceptual explanations and hands-on practice, allowing participants to understand the workflow and apply it optimally to their daily activities.
Participants included lecturers and academic staff from the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, who play strategic roles in the implementation of the Tridharma of higher education and faculty administrative services. Through this training, it is expected that participants will be able to improve coordination effectiveness, strengthen cross-unit collaboration, and drive digital-based work efficiency within the faculty.
This activity is also in line with the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through human resource capacity building, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through the utilization of digital technology in institutional work systems, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between the faculty and the university’s information technology management unit.
