UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Holds Discussion for Student Recruitment with SK Plasma

Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) discussed with SK Plasma, focusing on open recruitment opportunities for pharmacy students in the franchise industry sector of SK Plasma. This discussion aimed to provide students and alumni of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM with opportunities to build careers in the rapidly growing pharmaceutical franchise industry in Indonesia.

This discussion was organized as part of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s efforts to bridge the gap between education and industry, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector. SK Plasma is a leader in high-tech industrial components in Korea, second only to Samsung. SK Plasma’s factory is located in Andong, Korea, and it has expanded to 20 countries worldwide, including Indonesia. SK Plasma is supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, focusing on cooperation in Indonesia, which includes manufacturing equipment, training staff in Andong, Korea, and constructing factories in Indonesia. read more

Discussing Collaboration Initiation, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Welcomes Visit from PT. Mersifarma Tirmaku Mercusana

Pharmacy UGM – Friday (14/2), the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM received a visit from PT. Mersifarma Tirmaku Mercusana to discuss the potential initiation of a collaboration to strengthen the relationship between academia and the pharmaceutical industry. The meeting, held in the Dean’s Meeting Room (RSP) on the 7th floor of the APSLC Building at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, along with the leadership team and academic staff.

During the meeting, both parties discussed various potential collaborations, including programs to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical workforce. PT. Mersifarma Tirmaku Mercusana, a leading pharmaceutical company, also expressed its interest in supporting pharmaceutical education by providing access to the latest technology and pharmaceutical industry knowledge. read more

PSPA Pharmacy UGM Holds In Vitro Diagnostic Guest Lecture to Start New Semester

Farmasi UGM – The Pharmacist Professional Program (PSPA) of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) held a guest lecture titled “From Development to Patients: The Journey of In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD)” on Monday (February 10th) at the Auditorium on the 8th floor of the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM.

This guest lecture, which also served as the inaugural lecture for new PSPA students in the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year at UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy, aimed to provide new insights to students regarding in vitro diagnostic (IVD) products, how these products are developed, tested, produced, and how their use is related to the pharmacist profession. read more

Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Holds Campus Hiring with Novell Group

Pharmacy UGM – In collaboration with the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Novell Group successfully organized a recruitment for students of the Professional Pharmacist Study Program (PSPA). The recruitment was held on Thursday (1/23), at the APSLC Building of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. This activity was held to open career opportunities for PSPA students who wish to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

The recruitment was attended by around 60 participants, who were PSPA students from various universities in Yogyakarta, including UII, UAD, and UGM. A representative from the HRD team of Etercom Pharma Plant, one of the companies under Novell Group, was present to give a brief presentation on the company profile and the career opportunities currently available. Participants also learned about the work dynamics and environment at Novell Group, which is known as one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Indonesia. read more

Curtin University Visits Faculty of Pharmacy UGM: Exploring Collaboration Opportunities

Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed Dr. Hendra Gunosewoyo, a senior lecturer from Curtin Medical School, Curtin University, Australia. The purpose of this visit was to strengthen the friendly relationship between the UGM Pharmacy Faculty and Curtin University and explore potential collaboration opportunities in the field of Health Science.

Dr. Hendra Gunosewoyo’s visit was received by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni, Dr. rer.nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si, on Tuesday (21/01) at the APSLC Building of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. During the meeting, discussions on various collaboration potentials between the two institutions were conducted successfully. This visit also marked the beginning of planning collaborative programs that would be beneficial for both academic and research levels. read more

Workshop on the Evaluation of Teaching-Learning Activities and Preliminaries for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year

Pharmacy UGM – Tuesday (21/1) The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held a workshop with the agenda of evaluating Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM) and preparing for the upcoming Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The event took place at the 8th-floor Auditorium, APSLC, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. The workshop was attended by lecturers from all study programs within the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., who emphasized the importance of evaluating KBM as part of efforts to improve the quality of learning. During the workshop, several important inputs were shared, including the results of evaluations from ASIIN and AMI, as well as complaints and suggestions from students, which would be considered for follow-up actions to improve the quality of teaching at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. The planned improvements discussed included aspects of teaching, lecturer administration, and the enhancement of facilities and infrastructure. read more

Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and University of Otago Discuss Initiating International Collaboration

Pharmacy UGM – Monday (20/01), the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM welcomed a visit from the international team of the University of Otago to initiate collaboration between the two institutions. The event was successfully held in the Leaderboard Courtroom (RSP), 7th floor, APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. This visit marks an important step in strengthening the relationship between the two institutions and opening up future collaboration opportunities.

The University of Otago delegation, Sarah Ewing and Agatha Kanakamuni, were received by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni, Dr. rer. nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si., along with the program coordinators at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. During the meeting, both parties discussed various potential areas of collaboration, including research, student mobility, guest lectures, visiting professors, and curriculum development that could enhance the quality of education in pharmacy. read more

Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and PT Pharma Metric Labs Establish Research and Pharmaceutical Product Development Collaboration

Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has officially established a collaboration with PT Pharma Metric Labs through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday, January 10, 2025, in the Dean’s Office at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.

The MoU document was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. apt. Nanang Munif Yasin, S.Si., M.Pharm. Meanwhile, Anton Hidayat, the President Director, signed the MoU on behalf of PT Pharma Metric Labs. read more

Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and BRIN Hold Guest Lecture: Innovative Findings on ABC Transporters in Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance

Pharmacy UGM – A guest lecture titled “Important and Current Findings of Membrane Proteins to Tackle Antimicrobial Resistance”, organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), was successfully held on November 15, 2024. This event was part of the Visiting Professor program, featuring Dr. Erwin Lamping, an expert from the University of Otago, who shared the latest findings on ABC transporter research and its role in combating antimicrobial resistance, particularly resistance to fungi. read more
