Dharma Wanita Persatuan Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Organizes Mini Seminar on Safe Medication Practices

Yogyakarta, 30 January 2026 — Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, held its regular members’ meeting in the form of a mini seminar entitled “Ensuring Medicines Provide Benefits and Safety for You” on Friday (30/1). The event took place at the 8th Floor Auditorium of the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, and was attended by DWP members as well as staffs of the Faculty of Pharmacy academic community.

The activity opened with welcoming remarks from the Chair of DWP UP Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Mrs. Endah Suprapti Satibi, M.Si., who emphasized the important role of Dharma Wanita in improving family health literacy while fostering togetherness and positive contributions within the faculty environment. Her remarks officially marked the opening of the event.

The main session of the mini seminar featured Prof. Dr. apt. Ika Puspitasari, M.Si. as the speaker, who delivered educational material on the safe, rational, and effective use of medicines. In her presentation, Prof. Ika highlighted the importance of proper understanding of medication instructions, potential side effects, and the role of consumers in ensuring safe medication use in daily life.

Following the seminar session, the activity continued with a flower bouquet and snack creation workshop guided by Mrs. Nugraheni Ferisih Purwanti, S.Hut. During this session, participants were invited to engage in hands-on creative activities and produce items they could take home. The event was further enlivened by a food and beverage bazaar as well as a door prize distribution, which added to the enthusiasm of the participants.

Through this activity, DWP UP Faculty of Pharmacy UGM actively served as a platform for strengthening social ties, empowering members, and enhancing health literacy. The program aligns with efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through education on safe medication use, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through lifelong learning, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening community roles and internal collaboration.
