Combating Antimicrobial Resistance, Pharmacy UGM Students Team Win 3rd Place Nationally in KOFEIN Unair 2026 Public Poster Competition

Yogyakarta, 2 January 2026 – Students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), have once again secured a national achievement. The team consisting of Fina Azkia Ramadhani and Azalia Naida Shafa won 3rd Place in the KOFEIN 2026 Public Poster Competition (POSPUB) organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Airlangga. This prestigious competition saw participation from 108 contestants from various universities across Indonesia.

During the competition, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM delegation addressed the critical issue of antibiotic use through a poster titled “Antibiotics Are Losing Their Power: Stop Misuse, Stay Healthy in the Future!” This work was developed in response to the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which remains a serious global health challenge. Utilizing an educational visual approach, the team introduced the “POWER” concept as a practical guide for the public to use antibiotics wisely and rationally.

This achievement is a tangible manifestation of UGM Pharmacy students’ contribution to improving public health literacy. By simplifying complex medical information into communicative media, it is hoped that messages regarding the prevention of antibiotic resistance can be conveyed more effectively to ensure the sustainability of antibiotic treatment efficacy in the future.

This accomplishment also aligns with the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through education on disease prevention and proper medicine use, and SDG 4 (Quality Education) by encouraging students to actively innovate and compete beyond the classroom.
