Closing Ceremony PIONIR Papyrus 2025, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Prepares New Students to Become an Excellent and Inspiring Generation

Yogyakarta, August 7, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) officially concluded its new student orientation program, PIONIR Papyrus 2025, on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The two-day event was designed to introduce campus life and prepare the 2025/2026 cohort of new students, dubbed “Kawan Farmasi”, for their academic journey.

The final days of events began with a warm welcome from group facilitators for the arriving students. This was followed by a guidance session themed “Carving Achievements, Igniting Inspiration,” aimed at motivating new students to be proactive in their academic and non-academic pursuits. To further acquaint them with student life, a KMFA Fair was held, showcasing the various student organizations and Semi-Autonomous Bodies (BSO) within the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Before the closing ceremony, the 251 new students were energized by an “Inspiring Students” talk show. The session featured Daffa Yafindalisti, an outstanding student recognized for his achievements in the Student Creativity Program for Exact Sciences Research (PKM-RE), where he won a best poster medal in PIMNAS 2024. Known for his inspiring stories, Daffa also has experience in business and industrial case competitions. During the talk show, he shared his experiences and tips for successfully balancing academic and co-curricular activities.

The event culminated in a closing ceremony attended by the faculty’s deanship. In his closing remarks, the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.si., congratulated all the new students on officially becoming part of the Faculty of Pharmacy family. “Welcome officially, the new students of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. You have completed an important first step. We hope that the entire PIONIR Papyrus 2025 will serve as a valuable foundation for you to not only excel academically but also to actively engage and achieve great things within the campus community,” he stated.

The PIONIR Papyrus 2025 event also reflects the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By introducing the world of pharmacy from an early stage, the event contributes to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by preparing competent future healthcare professionals. The structured program, with its inspirational sessions and introduction to the academic environment, aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), ensuring new students have a strong foundation for high-quality higher education. Furthermore, the spirit of collaboration among the committee, faculty, and new students, along with the introduction to various organizations at the KMFA Fair, supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by building a solid network from the very beginning of their university life.

The event concluded with a lively celebration featuring a performance by Band Harmoni and a rendition of the PIONIR Papyrus jingle by the entire committee, leaving a lasting impression and renewed spirit among the new Kawan Farmasi 2025.
