On Sunday, September 24, 2017, there was held Temu Kangen Farmasi UGM 77 (reunion of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM class of 1977) with a theme “40 years of Devotion for Beloved Campus.” This event is part of the Reunion of Alumni 1977 among faculties since Friday, September 22 2017. The previous day, on Saturday there was a Nationality Concert “Together in Diversity” in Grha Sabha Pramana 2nd floor. The concert was livened with a Nationality Oration by UGM’s Rector Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng, D.Eng.
Temu Kangen Farmasi 77 was coordinated by Dra. Ellen Wijaya, MM, Apt. in her speech, she emphasised that the momentum of 40 years reunion of alumni 1977 was used for sharing to the faculty. This event was officially opened by Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Prof. Agung Endro Nugroho, M.Si., PhD, Apt. He mentioned that the alumni meeting can support the faculty programme in alumni development. “There are two programmes which are 1) improving the alumni networking and 2) improving the reputation of alumni at the national and international levels.” Networking development is done by implementation of Alumni and Career Development Center web system, alumni meeting, and alumni sharing programme. Meanwhile, improving the alumni reputation is carried out by some programmes such as career development workshop. “Alumni is the biggest asset for the university and part of UGM family, the key is by maintaining strong networking especially between alumni and the faculty,” the Dean added.
Temu Kangen Farmasi 77 was also celebrated with sharing of success experience of working in government sectors, industries, hospitals, education sectors, and other institutions. Among them who shared their story are Dra. Mienarwati, Dra. Susmaryati, and Drs. Prih Sarnianto.”The key of success for a pharmacist is integrity, professionality, and work ethics. Job vacancy in Community Health Centre is a challenge for pharmacists to support the profession expectation that pharmaceutical care at pharmacy has to be carried out by a pharmacist,” explained Dra. Mienarwati, M.Kes, Apt (ex-Director of Traditional Health Care at Directorate General of Health Care Ministry of Health, Surveyor of Health Facilities I, Head of KAGAMA Jakarta).
