Celebrating the 79th Anniversary, the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM Holds a Tumpeng Decoration Competition

Yogyakarta, August 24, 2025 – To celebrate the opening of its 79th anniversary, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) organized a Tumpeng Decoration Competition, which was participated in by various members of the academic community, including educational staff, lecturers, and students.

The event featured seven teams showcasing their best tumpeng creations: Team Mata2, Team Teka-Teki Biologi, Team Asik, Cantikafarmasetika, DFFK Wow, Wizard, Mediconia, and Mihu Mihu. Each team presented unique tumpeng decorations with artistic touches, rich in meaning, and reflecting the richness of Indonesia’s culinary culture.

After the judging process, Unit 4, represented by Team Asik, won First Place, while Unit 2, represented by Team Teka-Teki Biologi, was selected as the Favorite Winner thanks to their creativity and exceptional support.

The tumpeng decoration competition held as part of the opening of the 79th Anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM, aligns with several SDG points. First, it supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting the consumption of healthy and nutritious traditional foods through tumpeng, which typically consists of natural and balanced ingredients. Second, this activity supports SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by preserving local culinary culture as part of the academic community’s identity, thereby strengthening the sustainability of cultural heritage. Third, the event contributes to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between educational staff and faculty members, while also strengthening interpersonal relationships among academic staff within the faculty, creating a harmonious and inclusive work environment.

This activity is not only a platform for creativity and togetherness but also strengthens the spirit of family within the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM in celebrating its 79th anniversary.
