Celebrating the 79th Anniversary, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Holds Funminton X Pharmaciade

Yogyakarta, 12 September 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), celebrated its 79th Anniversary by organizing Funminton X Pharmaciade, a badminton tournament that embodies the spirit of sportsmanship, collaboration, and togetherness. Carrying the theme “Shuttle & Smiles: Rallying Fun and Fellowship”, this event served as a positive platform for interaction among all academic members, including lecturers, administrative staff, undergraduate students, professional program students, and postgraduate students.

Held at the PHCC Sport Hall, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, on 12–13 September 2025, the tournament featured three categories: mixed doubles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles, using a knockout system. In addition to the matches, the committee also provided a creative photo booth for participants and spectators to capture memorable moments of togetherness. This initiative is expected to offer a healthy recreational space amidst the academic routines.

This event was not only a sports and entertainment arena but also aligned with the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Faculty seeks to promote a healthy lifestyle and quality of well-being, aligning with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being). The activity is also intended to foster educational values such as sportsmanship, leadership, and non-academic learning, in line with SDG 4 (Quality Education). Furthermore, it aims to strengthen academic networks through inclusive collaboration, reflecting SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

With its vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere, Funminton X Pharmaciade is expected to create memorable experiences that strengthen internal bonds, enhance physical health, and nurture solidarity within the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. At the same time, this event underscores the Faculty’s role in fostering a healthy, dynamic academic environment that resonates with the principles of sustainable development.
