Celebrating its 79th Anniversary, the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM Holds a Free Health Check-Up for Academic Staff and Students

Yogyakarta, August 24, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM is conducting free health check-ups for all academic staff, including educational staff, students, and faculty members, as part of efforts to create a healthy and productive academic environment. This activity is one of the series of events celebrating the 79th Anniversary, which highlights the theme “Pharmacy Transformation: Innovation, Collaboration, and Sustainability.” The health check-up includes various examinations such as height measurement, weight measurement, blood pressure checks, blood glucose levels, uric acid levels, and cholesterol levels. This service is crucial for early detection of health issues, particularly for those at risk of non-communicable diseases like hypertension and diabetes.

This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all members of the academic community at all ages, SDG 3. This is because such activities contribute to raising awareness about health issues and the importance of accessible healthcare services for the academic community of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Additionally, ensuring the health of academic staff will contribute to sustained productivity and innovation, in line with this year’s anniversary theme to supports SDG 9. Ensuring the health of faculty members, students, and educational staff creates a more conducive and effective learning environment. Healthy academic staff tend to be more focused and productive, ultimately improving the overall quality of education, in line with SDG 4.

This activity is expected to raise awareness among all academic staff about the importance of regular health check-ups and a healthy lifestyle, while also reinforcing the role of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM as an agent of change in the national health ecosystem.
