Yogyakarta, August 2, 2024 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) proudly concluded the International Summer Course on Natural Cosmetics: Exploring Indonesian Beauty. This intensive three-week program, held from July 15 to August 2, 2024, was designed to offer participants a deep dive into the development of natural cosmetics, leveraging Indonesia’s abundant natural resources and the global “Back to Nature” trend. The course featured two weeks of online lectures, followed by a week of on-site activities in Yogyakarta, providing a rich blend of theoretical and practical learning experiences.

Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada held the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Course 2024, titled “Exploring Indonesia Beauty,” on Monday, 15th July, 2024 via Zoom Meeting. This event offers interesting topics pertaining to pharmacy and health. The primary theme for this year is the Indonesian beauty business, especially as it relates to natural product cosmetics, covering essential knowledge, research and development, and business innovation within the cosmetic industry. Hundreds of international students from different countries with a wide range of backgrounds attended the event.
Pharmacy UGM – (11/06) The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) along with a delegation of researchers was invited to participate in the 4th ASEAN PharmNET 2024 Conference. This event, held in conjunction with the 2024 US-Thai Pharmacy Education Consortium Meeting: 30th Anniversary Commemoration, was hosted by Mahidol University in Thailand. As part of the activities, the ASEAN-US Dean/Representatives Meeting was conducted as a pre-conference session. Prof. Dr. Apt. Satibi, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM, attended as a representative of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia.
Pharmacy UGM – On Friday, May 31, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a delegation from Daewoong Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., Korea. The esteemed delegation included Daniel Kwon, Jonghyun Lee, and Winston Obert from Daewoong Korea, as well as Dita Ayu Purnamasari from Daewoong Biologics Indonesia.
The primary objective of this visit was to explore potential collaborative opportunities with UGM’s researchers and to benchmark the advanced laboratory facilities of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy. The discussions aimed at strengthening research partnerships and enhancing internship prospects for UGM students.
Pharmacy UGM – As part of community service activities, lecturers and UGM Faculty of Pharmacy students participated in free health treatment service activities at Lumbini Park, Borobudur Temple, Central Java. The activity was held for 2 days on Saturday-Sunday, 18-19 May 2024 with the number of participants reaching 7 thousand people. This community service was hosted by the Indonesian Buddhist Representative (WALUBI) in the framework of the Tri Suci Waisak 2568 BE/2024 celebration in collaboration with various parties, one of which was the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy.
