After eight years, Indonesia became the host of Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). The 17th ACCP event also commemorated 20 years of ACCP pioneering practical conference to accelerate transfer of knowledge and enhanced clinical pharmacy practice, education and research in Asia. This year, the conference’s theme was ‘Unity in Diversity and the Standardization of Clinical Pharmacy Services’, provided new solution and answer challenges that had been faced nowadays started with 6 pre-conference workshops on July 27th 2017.

Tahun ini merupakan tahun ke-16 diselenggarakannya Asia Pacifik Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS) dimana mahasiswa Farmasi se-Asia Pasifik berkumpul untuk mendiskusikan isu-isu terkini seputar dunia ke-farmasian dan kesehatan. Kali ini, “Pharmachine” diangkat sebagai tema umum untuk membahas ilmu farmasi dari jaman dahulu hingga sekarang, serta memperbincangkan mengenai masa depan perkembangan bidang ilmu tersebut. Sebagai tuan rumah APPS yang diadakan pada tanggal 21 hingga 27 Juli 2017 lalu, Thailand mempercayakan Pharmacy Students Union of Thailand (PSUT), Bangkok sebagai tempat diadakannya symposium APPS yang ke-16 dan berhasil mengundang 14 negara, yaitu Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zeland, Australia, Bangladesh, India, Filipina, Taiwan, Singapore, Canada, Japan, Korea Selatan, USA, dan Brazil
Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada welcomed the Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Burapha University Professor Ekarin Saifah at the official residence of the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 16.00 western Indonesian times. Professor Ekarin Saifah and Ms Thiyapa were cordially received by Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Professor Agung Endro Nugroho along with Vice Dean for Research, Community Services, Collaboration, and Alumni Dr Endang Lukitaningsih. Among them are Dr Allwar from Universitas Islam Indonesia, Dr Dyah Aryani Perwitasari from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, and Dr Aris Widowati from Universitas Sanata Dharma.
Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada received a visit from Professor Joseph T. Dipiro in a welcoming session entitled “Afternoon Coffee with Professor Joseph T Dipiro” at meeting hall Unit I of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 15.30 to 17.00 western Indonesian times. The session was attended by some key persons in Faculty of Pharmacy UGM including the faculty members and some representative students. Professor Dipiro was warmly welcomed by Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Professor Agung Endro Nugroho along with Vice Dean for Research, Community Services, Collaboration, and Alumni Dr Endang Lukitaningsih, and Vice Dean for Finance, Human Resource, and Property Management Dr Satibi Ali Kusnadi.
This July seems to be a happy month for all pharmacist and pharmacy students in Yogyakarta. Taking advantages from the series of the 17th ACCP (Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy) held in this city of student, 2 guest lectures were set up in collaboration of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), Universitas Sanata Dharma (USD), Universitas Muhammadyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and Universitas Airlangga (Unair). The aim is offering update for new knowledges and paradigm in Clinical Pharmacy today, how to initiate, construct and implement ideal practice of pharmacists.
Public lecture by Prof. Joseph T. DiPiro was invited to give his presentation on “Building Consistent Models of Clinical Pharmacy”, conducted by collaboration of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), Universitas Sanata Dharma (USD), Universitas Muhammadyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and Universitas Airlangga (Unair). This lecture is held in Asri Medical Centre Hall UMY Wirobrajan Yogyakarta on Saturday, July 29, 2017.
Prof. Joseph DiPiro is one of the famous textbook author on clinical pharmacy. His book titled “Pharmacotherapy : a Pathophysiologic Approach” is main reference read by a lot of pharmacy students from undergraduate to postgraduate who are fascinated to extend more knowledges in drugs therapy. The topic talked was highly relevant with the recent issues related to clinical pharmacy practice, especially in Indonesia. Such field is still new and the system is on progress to be concepted and clearly constructed.
Demi memajukan ilmu dan pengetahuan di bidang kesehatan, Fakultas Farmasi UGM melalui Program Peningkatan Kualitas Alumni Universitas Gadjah Mada mengadakan Workshop Flowsitometri. Acara yang diadakan pada tanggal 1 – 2 Agustus 2017 ini di buka langsung oleh Prof. Agung Endro Nugroho, M.Si., PhD, Apt. selaku Dekan Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Gadjah Mada. Dalam sambutannya, beliau menyampaikan harapannya agar melalui acara ini, iklim penelitian khususnya penelitian ke arah biologi molekuler di Indonesia dapat semakin maju, khususnya Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Gadjah Mada. “Banyak sekali publikasi dosen Farmasi UGM di jurnal internasional bereputasi melibatkan penelitian-penelitian menggunakan alat tersebut”, dalam sambutannya.
Divisi Teknologi Informasi (IT) didukung oleh Kanal Pengetahuan dan Informasi (KPI) Fakultas Farmasi UGM menyelenggarakan Pelatihan Dasar Pemanfaatan Google Drive untuk Manajemen File dan Dokumen untuk tenaga kependidikan (tendik) di Fakultas Farmasi UGM pada Selasa, 25 Juli 2017. Diikuti sebanyak 47 tendik yang berasal dari berbagai unit, pelatihan ini sekaligus memanfaatkan Laboratorium CBT (Computer-Based Test) Ruang I Fakultas Farmasi UGM yang memiliki 50 unit komputer. Pelatihan setengah hari yang dilakukan secara casual ini menghadirkan narasumber dari Divisi IT dan KPI sendiri dengan sistem sharing, atau istilahnya belajar bersama. Harapannya, pelatihan ini dapat meningkatkan kinerja tendik di lingkup unitnya masing-masing. Ke depan, pelatihan-pelatihan semacam ini akan diagendakan secara rutin oleh Fakultas Farmasi UGM, sebagaimana disampaikan oleh Wakil Dekan Bidang Bidang Keuangan, Aset dan SDM, Dr. Satibi, M.Si., Apt. The Associate for Faculty Affairs of College of Pharmacy University of South Florida Professor Yashwant Pathak, MD., M.Sc. gave a visit to Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Besides delivering a lecture entitled “Nano biomaterials for Ophthalmic Drug Delivery Systems with Special Focus on Age-related Macular Degeneration”, Professor Pathak also gave a workshop on academic internationalisation and curriculum development to the faculty members held in the Meeting Room 2nd Fl. Unit I Faculty of Pharmacy UGM at 1 pm. The workshop was detailed on “Cracking the New ACPE Guidelines for International ACPE Certification for College of Pharmacy”.
On July 11, 2017, the Dean of Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) Professor Rosnani Hashim paid a visit to Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada. It is her second visit to Yogyakarta within 2017, and she is expected to have her third visit on November by attending the 5th International Conference in Pharmacy and Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICPAPS 2017) which is organised by Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
Professor Rosnani was invited along with her colleague Dr Izyan by the Chair of Master of Clinical Pharmacy Program Professor Zullies Ikawati to be the external examiners on her students’ viva. During the visit, Professor Rosnani and Dr Izyan were also having a discussion and knowledge sharing session which was attended by Professor Zullies Ikawati, Dr Fita Rahmawati, Dr Chairun Wiedyaningsih, Woro Harjaningsih, Sp.FRS., Apt., Mufitarina Ikawati, M.Sc., Apt., and Mawardi Ihsan, M.Sc., Apt. They discussed the rules and the assessment systems of clinical attachment in Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and CUCMS.
