
Pharmacy UGM – On Tuesday (11/2), the College of Korea Medicine Kyung Hee University (KHU), South Korea, paid an academic visit to the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The visit aimed to strengthen international relations and discuss and finalize an academic cooperation agreement between the two institutions. The representative from the College of Korea Medicine KHU, Prof. Bonglee Kim, was welcomed by the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s leadership team, along with several lecturers and academic staff.
The visit, held in the Leaderboard Court Room (RSP), 7th floor of the APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, was opened with remarks from the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. rer.nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si., who warmly welcomed the visit from the College of Korea Medicine KHU. “This visit not only reinforces our academic ties but also opens new opportunities for meaningful collaboration. The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) between the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and the College of Korean Medicine, KHU shared commitment to advancing education, research, and innovation.”
After presentations on the profiles of both institutions, the activities continued with a discussion session about several aspects of the MoU. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in various aspects, including faculty and student exchanges. The two universities will provide opportunities for students to participate in exchange programs to gain valuable international experience.
Furthermore, both parties agreed to actively participate in seminars and academic meetings to share the latest research findings and develop scientific dialogue between researchers and academics from both universities. They also agreed to exchange academic materials and other relevant information that could enrich teaching and research.
Prof. Kim expressed his enthusiasm about the agreement, saying, “We are very pleased to collaborate with the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. We believe this collaboration will open many opportunities for both sides to advance education, research, and community service in the field of pharmacy.”
In addition to marking the beginning of a closer relationship between the College of Korea Medicine Kyung Hee University and the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, this visit directly supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The collaboration, including faculty and student exchanges, will enhance quality education (SDG 4) and reduce inequality (SDG 10) through international programs. Moreover, joint research activities focused on the development of research supporting global health and pharmaceutical fields contribute to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
