Yogyakarta, October 18, 2025 — The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has once again achieved national recognition. Fauzia Amrina Rosyada, an undergraduate student of the Pharmacy Study Program, secured Second Place in the Patient Counseling Competition at the prestigious annual event, Scopolamine 7th.
Scopolamine 7th is a nationwide pharmacy competition organized by the Pharmacy Student Association of Universitas Sriwijaya (HKMF UNSRI). The event serves as a platform for pharmacy students across Indonesia to showcase their talents, enhance their scientific abilities, and foster a spirit of healthy competition. The Patient Counseling Competition, one of the event’s key categories, challenges participants to demonstrate their skill in providing clear, effective, and informative medication counseling.
Fauzia’s success reflects the strength of UGM’s academic environment and the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to cultivating graduates who excel academically while being ready to compete and contribute meaningfully at the national level. First Place in this category went to Jesslyn Angglela from Sanata Dharma University, while Third Place was awarded to Ichwan Hasan from the University of Jember.
This achievement also aligns with UGM’s dedication to sustainable development. Strong patient counseling skills, as demonstrated by Fauzia, directly support SDG 3, Good Health and Well-Being, by promoting the safe and effective use of medications for improved public health. The performance of UGM students in national competitions further strengthens SDG 4, Quality Education, by highlighting the relevance and excellence of pharmacy education at UGM. Additionally, this accomplishment contributes to SDG 9, Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, through the continuous development of capable, innovative, and competitive pharmaceutical professionals.
The Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM hopes that this accomplishment will inspire other students to keep refining their skills, embrace new challenges, and continue bringing pride to Universitas Gadjah Mada at the national level through similar activities and competitions in the future.
