Yogyakarta, January 10, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has officially conducted the handover ceremony for the construction of the Asy-Syifa Mosque, located within the Faculty’s campus. The ceremony was marked by the signing of the Handover Agreement (BAST) between the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., and the Director of PT Anggono Group (KSO), Ir. Hesthi Anggono, as the construction executor.
The construction of the Asy-Syifa Mosque represents the Faculty’s commitment to providing a representative worship facility for the academic community while fostering spirituality on campus. This project commenced following the Cooperation Agreement No. 1.26.01/UN1/FA/UP/KS/2024, signed on January 26, 2024, and was completed on schedule with an extended deadline of December 31, 2024.
In his remarks, Prof. Satibi expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in the construction of the mosque. “The Asy-Syifa Mosque is expected to serve not only as a place of worship but also as a medium to strengthen bonds and foster shared values within the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM,” he stated.
The construction of the Asy-Syifa Mosque aligns with UGM’s dedication to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by providing inclusive and sustainable public facilities, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting social harmony within the academic environment.
With the completion of the Asy-Syifa Mosque, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM hopes to continue providing benefits to the campus community and its surroundings, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and serve as a symbol of harmony in diversity.
