Yogyakarta, Saturday, September 26, 2026 — The Faculty of Pharmacy at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) held its 16th Lustrum Open Senate Meeting and 80th Anniversary Celebration as the culmination of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy’s Lustrum commemorative events. The event took place on the 2nd floor of Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. This celebration served as an important opportunity to reflect on the journey of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy while reaffirming its commitment to continuing its contributions to the field of pharmacy based on excellence in science and technology.
The UGM School of Pharmacy Lustrum is a celebration held every five years since the founding of the UGM School of Pharmacy on September 27, 1946. Having been held 15 times, 2026 will mark the 16th Lustrum celebration as well as the 80th anniversary of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy. This year’s series of commemorative events includes various activities, such as an international seminar, an alumni reunion, community service, and other events, culminating in an Open Senate Meeting.
The Open Senate Meeting served as an opportunity to present the dean’s annual report and the achievements of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy over the past five years and to outline the Faculty’s projections and aspirations for the future. During the event, the Chair of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Senate, Prof. Dr. apt. Arief Nurrochmad, M.Si., M.Sc., presided over the plenary session of the Open Senate. Next, the Dean of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., presented the Dean’s Annual Report, which outlined the Faculty’s achievements, projections for future progress, and its role over the next five years.
The event program also featured a scientific address commemorating the 80th Lustrum of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy, delivered by Drs. apt. Nurul Falah Eddy Pariang. The event began with the Bajidor Kahot opening dance, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, the Gadjah Mada Hymn, and the Faculty of Pharmacy March, as well as remarks by the Rector of Gadjah Mada University, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D. In addition to these main agenda items, the event also featured an angklung performance by faculty members, an awards ceremony, a prayer, as well as a reception and lunch.
The Open Senate Meeting was attended by the leadership and members of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy Senate, as well as guests, including the Rector and Vice Rectors of UGM, deans of other UGM faculties, Kagama Pharmacy, the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI), and partners of the Faculty. All faculty members, alumni, staff, and students of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy also participated in this event. In addition to serving as a forum for the academic community and alumni to come together, this event resulted in the publication of the Dean’s report and the academic text of the Lustrum address, which are available to the public as documentation of the achievements and development plans of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy.
The holding of the XVI Lustrum Open Senate Meeting and the 80th Anniversary of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through strengthening scientific development, reflecting on academic achievements, and fostering collaboration among the academic community, alumni, partners, and various stakeholders. The commitment to continue contributing to the field of health through excellence in science and technology, while strengthening national and international networks, is part of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy’s efforts to provide sustainable benefits to society.
