Yogyakarta, 25 May 2026 — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), participated in the 1st Anniversary celebration of Taman Budaya Embung Giwangan entitled “Langkah Budaya,” held on Saturday (23/5). As part of the event, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM collaborated with the organizing committee to provide free health check-up services for the community at the event area.
The health screening activity aimed to increase public awareness of the importance of understanding one’s health condition and undergoing regular health check-ups as a preventive measure to maintain quality of life. The community showed great enthusiasm for the service, with approximately 115 participants receiving health check-ups throughout the event.
Through the health services provided, participants were able to receive basic health examinations as well as education on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The involvement of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM in this activity reflects the faculty’s commitment to bringing healthcare services closer to the community and strengthening the role of educational institutions in supporting public health.
Participation in the “Langkah Budaya” event also served as a collaborative platform between academia and the community in fostering an inclusive and sustainable healthy lifestyle culture. In addition to being a space for social and cultural interaction, the activity was expected to enhance public awareness regarding personal and environmental health.
This activity aligns with the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through health screening services and public health education; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities through active involvement in community-based cultural activities; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through collaboration between educational institutions and the community in promoting shared well-being.
