Yogyakarta, 19 December 2025 — The Faculty of Pharmacy Senate of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held the Ngobrol Bareng Senator (NGOBRAS) activity on Friday, 19 December 2025, at the Workshop Room, 3rd Floor, Unit IX Building, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. The event was conducted in an offline format and attended by members of the Faculty of Pharmacy Senate and early-career lecturers of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
NGOBRAS is an open dialogue forum designed as an aspirational and inspirational platform connecting the Faculty Senate and early-career lecturers. The activity aims to gather ideas, input, and expectations from young academics as material for the Faculty Senate in carrying out its academic and institutional advisory roles. This initiative is a follow-up to the outcomes of the 2025 Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Senate Working Meeting, which emphasized the importance of direct and participatory mechanisms for collecting academic aspirations.
The event began with an opening session and a welcoming address by the Chair of the Faculty of Pharmacy Senate, followed by an introductory presentation highlighting the outcomes of the 2025 Faculty Senate Working Meeting. The main NGOBRAS session featured interactive discussions and dialogue, during which early-career lecturers shared perspectives on the implementation of the university’s three pillars of higher education (education, research, and community service), academic career development, human resource governance, and the academic climate within the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. The discussions were then summarized into key points of aspiration documented as strategic recommendations for the Faculty Senate.
Through NGOBRAS, the Faculty of Pharmacy Senate of UGM aims to strengthen communication, synergy, and a sense of ownership among early-career lecturers toward faculty governance, while also fostering an inclusive, responsive, and sustainable academic environment. The aspirations collected are expected to serve as valuable input for future faculty policy formulation.
This NGOBRAS activity is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the strengthening of participatory higher education governance, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by enhancing institutional capacity, transparency, and inclusive decision-making, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by encouraging internal collaboration among academic stakeholders in support of the continued development of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
