UGM Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences Earns “Excellent” Accreditation from LAM-PTKes for Five Years

Jakarta, 29 November 2025 – The Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, has officially been granted Excellent Accreditation by the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes). This recognition is based on the Accreditation Committee Plenary Meeting Report No. 012/LAM-PTKes/BA Akr/XI/2025 dated 29 November 2025, confirming that the program has met the highest standards in academic quality, research performance, program management, and continuous quality improvement.

Based on the decision, LAM-PTKes has determined that the accreditation status for the Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences is valid for five years, effective until 29 November 2030, provided that the program continues to meet regulatory requirements and national quality standards. LAM-PTKes will also conduct annual monitoring and evaluation to ensure the sustained eligibility and quality of the accredited program.

LAM-PTKes has operated as an independent accreditation body since 2015, with its legal foundation deriving from Law No. 12/2012 on Higher Education, the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Regulation No. 44/2015 on Higher Education Standards, and the Ministry of Education and Culture Decree No. 291/P/2014 regarding operational recognition. Its accreditation assessments include comprehensive evaluations of curriculum quality, faculty qualifications, research outputs, institutional governance, learning facilities, and the relevance of graduates to the needs of the national and global health sectors.

The attainment of Excellent Accreditation strengthens the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to developing highly competent, critical, and globally competitive doctoral graduates, as well as advancing strategic research in pharmaceutical sciences. This achievement also contributes meaningfully to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through the enhancement of health research and innovation; SDG 4 (Quality Education) by delivering high-quality, inclusive, and internationally benchmarked doctoral education; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthened research collaborations, institutional partnerships, and multi-level knowledge exchange.
