Students of Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada Achieves First Runner-Up in the 2025 ISPE DIY-Jateng Hackathon Industrial Case Competition

Yogyakarta, May 24 2025 – A proud achievement has been attained by students of the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in a regional academic competition. A team consisting of Anggraini Ihza Rizkita (Class C, 2021), Nabila Fahrida R (Class A, 2022), Maliha Hanun (Class A, 2022), Yohan Budianto (Class B, 2022), and Alyssa Izzatee Fauzi (Class C, 2023) successfully secured the First Runner-Up position in the Hackathon Industrial Case Competition ISPE DIY – Jateng 2025, organized by the ISPE DIY-Jateng Student Chapter on May 24, 2025.

The Hackathon Industrial Case Competition is an industry case study-based competition designed to sharpen students’ analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork in addressing challenges within the pharmaceutical industry. In this competition, participants were challenged to deliver innovative and applicable solutions to various industrial pharmacy problems within the timeframe determined by the organizing committee.

The team of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM presented comprehensive ideas and strategies using a data-driven approach, while also considering sustainability aspects and best industrial practices. Their work captured the judges’ attention for its innovation, practicality, and potential for implementation in the context of the Indonesian pharmaceutical industry.

This accomplishment demonstrates the ability of the team of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM to compete and contribute concretely to the development of innovative industrial solutions. The Faculty remains committed to supporting the development of student competencies through various academic and non-academic activities that foster creativity, collaboration, and competitiveness at regional, national, and international levels.

The team of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM achieving first Runner-Up in the Hackathon Industrial Case Competition ISPE DIY – Jateng 2025 aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and Goal 4 (Quality Education). Through this industry case study-based competition, students were challenged to generate innovative and applicable solutions to real-world issues in the pharmaceutical sector. Their active involvement reflects the role of students in driving sustainable innovation and fostering resilient industrial development. Moreover, this activity strengthens practice-based and collaborative learning processes (SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals), which are essential elements of a higher education system that is responsive to contemporary needs and sustainable development.
