Yogyakarta, June 30, 2025 — The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed representatives from the Apothecary Professional Education Study Program, Faculty of Health Sciences, Alma Ata University, Yogyakarta, on Monday, June 30, 2025. The visit took place from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM (WIB) in the Leaderboard Meeting Room, 7th Floor, APSLC Building, Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM.
The delegation from Alma Ata University, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Yhona Paratmanitya, S.Gz., Dietisien., M.P.H., was warmly received by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si., along with the Head and Secretary of the Apothecary Professional Study Program (PSPA). The event was conducted as a benchmarking activity focusing on curriculum and the strengths of the Apothecary Professional Education Program.
The visit began with a presentation on the profile and curriculum of the PSPA Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, followed by a warm and constructive discussion. The dialogue explored various aspects of the curriculum in greater depth, including competency-based learning methods, strategies for soft skills development among students, Pharmacist Professional Work Practice (PKPA) and academic and professional evaluation systems. In addition, both institutions shared experiences in managing pharmaceutical higher education institutions amid the increasingly dynamic developments in the pharmaceutical field.
This event not only strengthened ties between the two institutions but also reflected the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through meaningful discussions on the management of pharmacy professional education, both institutions contributed to improving the quality of higher education, enhancing the competencies of future health professionals, and fostering strategic collaborations between educational institutions. This initiative represents a shared commitment to building a pharmacy education system that is adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable.
