Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) organized a Preceptor Training Program for Pharmacist Professional Education on May 3–4, 2025, at the Faculty’s Auditorium. This training was attended by pharmacist preceptors from various UGM partner healthcare institutions, aiming to strengthen their competencies in mentoring pharmacy students during their practical internships in health facilities.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., emphasized the strategic role of preceptors in shaping the competence and professionalism of pharmacy graduates. “Preceptors are the frontline educators in practical internships activity. Your guidance is vital to producing ethical, competent, and high quality pharmacists,” said Prof. Satibi.
The two-day training featured comprehensive topics such as pedagogy in professional education, managerial skills, interpersonal communication, the role of preceptors as facilitators, role models, and educators, as well as interprofessional education and collaboration. The sessions were led by experienced academics and professionals, including Prof. Dr. apt. Agung Endro Nugroho, M.Si., Prof. Dr. apt. Ajeng Diantini, M.Si., Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., Dr. apt. Valentina Yurina, S.Si, M.Si., Prof. Dr. apt. Yandi Syukri, M.Si., apt. Muhammad Ikhwan Rizki, M.Farm., and Prof. Dr. Ika Puspita Sari, M.Si., Apt.
The program also included case-based discussions and a sharing experience session, offering a platform for participants to reflect and exchange real-world insights. A pre- and post-test was conducted to assess learning outcomes and competency development.
This training reflects the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to maintaining the quality of professional pharmacist education in alignment with modern healthcare service standards. It also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
