Pharmacy UGM — Wednesday (29/03), the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed a visit from the Faculty of Pharmacy of University College MAIWP International (UCMI) Malaysia. The visit aims to introduce UCMI students to UGM, especially the study environment and student activity at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, and give them the opportunity to experience a day as UGM pharmacy students.
The UCMI delegation, consisting of 20 students and 4 lecturers, was received by UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy to participate in the One Day Short Course on Humanity Leadership Beyond Boundaries. The activity began with participant re-registration at the APSLC Building lobby of UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy, followed by a campus and faculty tour led by representatives of BEM KMFA UGM (Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Pharmacy).
Afterward, the UCMI delegation attended a guest lecture alongside UGM pharmacy students, delivered by Mohammad Nastin bin Abdul Rohman, Head of the Pharmacy Program at UCMI. He presented a lecture on the topic Integration of Education, Research, and Pharmaceutical Technology: Strategies for Building a World-Class Pharmacy Program.
UCMI students also had the opportunity to take part in an interactive Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Sharing Session with student representatives from UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy, represented by members of BEM KMFA UGM. Meanwhile, the accompanying lecturers were received by the leaderboard of UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy in a Faculty Meeting held in the Leaderboard Meeting Room (RSP), APSLC Building, to discuss potential collaboration between the two institutions.
This activity not only strengthened academic cooperation between institutions but also aligned with several points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). The event promoted knowledge exchange, the values of tolerance, and sustainable collaboration. (Rara/HumasFA)
