Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Welcomes Visit from the Apothecary Professional Program of Mataram University

Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed a visit from the Apothecary Professional Education Study Program (PSPPA) of Mataram University (UNRAM) on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. The visit, held in the Head of Study Program Discussion Room, 4th Floor of APSLC Building, aimed to provide insights, experiences, and input regarding the implementation of the Apothecary Professional Education program at UGM. The information shared is expected to support PSPPA UNRAM in addressing the accreditation recommendations previously received.

Through this visit, PSPPA UNRAM explored various aspects that need improvement, such as curriculum development, quality enhancement of graduates, program distinctiveness, student activities, and internationalization. The visit also served as a platform to foster collaboration and exchange experiences between institutions involved in the professional education of pharmacists.

Dr. apt. Siti Rahmatul Aini, S.F., M.Sc., the Coordinator of PSPPA UNRAM, expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome extended by the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM. She emphasized that the knowledge and insights gained during the visit would be highly beneficial in supporting the advancement of education quality at PSPPA UNRAM. On the other hand, the Head of PSPA UGM, apt. Anna Wahyuni Widayanti, MPH., Ph.D., delivered a presentation covering various aspects of the professional education program at UGM, including curriculum management, student activities, and the implementation of the Apothecary Professional Work Practice (PKPA).

The benchmarking activity supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including: SDG 4 (Quality Education), through efforts to enhance the quality of pharmaceutical education; SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by strengthening graduates’ competencies to meet workforce demands; SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), through transparent and accountable institutional governance; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by encouraging collaboration between educational institutions to improve overall quality.
