
Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy UGM held a meeting with representatives from the University of Tokyo to discuss opportunities for international collaboration focused on education and research. The event, which took place on Thursday (20/2), aimed to strengthen academic relations between the two universities and open up opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration for both parties.
The meeting was attended by the Leaderboard of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, represented by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni, as well as the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources. Additionally, several lecturers were present, including representatives from the Chemistry program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UGM and the Chemical Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering UGM. Meanwhile, the University of Tokyo was represented by Dr. Augie Atqa.
The discussions covered several key aspects of cooperation, including student mobility, research matchmaking, and academic activities such as guest lectures and seminars. The two universities discussed plans to introduce student mobility programs, including internship, lab assistant, and student exchange, which would allow students from both the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and the University of Tokyo to exchange experiences and knowledge.
In addition, joint research became a major focus of the meeting. Both parties agreed to explore the possibility of collaboration in various pharmaceutical research topics. To support this research collaboration, both universities will also facilitate research matchmaking, enabling researchers from the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and the University of Tokyo to collaborate on research projects that will benefit the global community.
This cooperation is expected to be realized soon through the various programs discussed and will contribute significantly to the development of pharmaceutical sciences and global health. Additionally, this collaboration aligns with several goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
