Yogyakarta, August 24, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held a Fun Walk as part of the opening series of events for its 79th Anniversary. The activity was attended by the entire academic community, including lecturers, educational staff, retired lecturers and staff, their families, and student representatives. The atmosphere of togetherness and family spirit colored the event, which took place within the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
The event began with welcoming remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., officially marked the commencement of this year’s anniversary celebrations. On this occasion, a symbolic handover of plant seedlings from the Dean to the youngest lecturer, apt. Muhammad Seftian, M.Pharm.Sci., was also carried out as a gesture of generational continuity and a symbol of the Faculty’s sustainable growth in the future. The Fun Walk was then officially started with the waving of the flag by the Dean, greeted with great enthusiasm by all participants.
The series of activities did not stop at the Fun Walk but continued with various entertainment and communal events. These included a tumpeng competition showcasing the creativity of the academic community, artistic performances from various units and departments of the Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as the door prizes giveaway that added to the festive atmosphere.
Through this event, the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM not only celebrated its 79th anniversary but also strengthened the spirit of togetherness, sportsmanship, and collaboration among all its members. The Fun Walk symbolized the Faculty’s long journey of continuous growth, development, and contribution to education, research, and community service.
Beyond being a celebration, the Fun Walk also supported the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) by promoting physical and mental health, Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11) through the spirit of environmental care symbolized by the handover of plant seedlings, and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) through collaboration and unity of the academic community in successfully commemorating the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Anniversary.
