Universitas Gadjah Mada’s Biology and Pharmacy Faculties received a reciprocal visit from Universiteit Leiden. The delegations of Universiteit Leiden consisting of the Coordinator of International Relations Gert Jan Van Helden and the Head of Legal Affairs Daniel Mandel were welcomed by the Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Professor Agung Endro Nugroho and the Dean of Faculty of Biology UGM Dr. Budi Setiadi Daryono on Monday (15/5) at the Meeting Room of Faculty of Biology UGM.
The visit was the follow up of the MoA signed in 2016 between Faculty of Science Universiteit Leiden and UGM’s Faculty of Biology and Faculty of Pharmacy. The delegations along with the Deans, the Vice Deans, and the Head of Leiden Science-UGM Joint Collaboration Dr Sylvia Utami Tunjung Pratiwi had a meeting on the realization of a Joint Zebrafish Research Centre. “This Centre could open an extensive cooperation between the faculties,” as stated by Gert Jan Van Helden who has put his strong concern in the cooperation with universities in Indonesia. “This is a big momentum to begin the Centre,” Daniel Mandel added before signing a decision in principle on the realization of a Joint Zebrafish Research Centre.
