UGM Faculty of Pharmacy and University of Groningen Discuss Double Degree and Student Exchange Programs

Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed a delegation from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, on Tuesday (20/8). The meeting was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s Meeting Room and attended by the Faculty of Pharmacy’s leadership, representatives from UGM’s Office of International Affairs, and delegates from the University of Groningen.

The University of Groningen delegation included Tim Zwaagstra, M.A. (Senior Policy Adviser Southeast Asia), John Falvey, M.A. (International Policy Advisor Oceania and Southeast Asia), and Liza Ten Velde (Policy Adviser Internationalization Faculty of Science and Engineering). read more

Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Welcomes Prof. Taifo Mahmud, Ph.D., for Insightful Guest Lecture on Natural Product-Based Drug Discovery

The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) proudly hosted a guest lecture by Prof. Taifo Mahmud, Ph.D., from Oregon State University, USA. The lecture, titled “Contemporary Approaches to Natural Product-based Drug Discovery and Development,” was held on August 15, 2024, at Unit IX of the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.

Prof. Mahmud, a distinguished researcher in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, delivered an engaging presentation to an audience comprising Master’s and Doctoral degree students of UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy. The lecture focused on the latest advancements in drug discovery and development from natural products, highlighting the role of biotechnology and medicinal chemistry in pioneering innovative therapeutic solutions. read more

Successful Completion of the International Summer Course on Natural Cosmetics: Exploring Indonesian Beauty 2024

Yogyakarta, August 2, 2024 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) proudly concluded the International Summer Course on Natural Cosmetics: Exploring Indonesian Beauty. This intensive three-week program, held from July 15 to August 2, 2024, was designed to offer participants a deep dive into the development of natural cosmetics, leveraging Indonesia’s abundant natural resources and the global “Back to Nature” trend. The course featured two weeks of online lectures, followed by a week of on-site activities in Yogyakarta, providing a rich blend of theoretical and practical learning experiences. read more

The Faculty of Pharmacy and FKKMK UGM Hold Summer Course 2024 Entitled “Exploring Indonesia Beauty”

Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada held the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Course 2024, titled “Exploring Indonesia Beauty,” on Monday, 15th July, 2024 via Zoom Meeting. This event offers interesting topics pertaining to pharmacy and health. The primary theme for this year is the Indonesian beauty business, especially as it relates to natural product cosmetics, covering essential knowledge, research and development, and business innovation within the cosmetic industry. Hundreds of international students from different countries with a wide range of backgrounds attended the event. read more

Faculty of Pharmacy UGM Signs Cooperation Agreement with the United States and Other ASEAN Members for Pharmaceutical Advancement at Bangkok, Thailand

Pharmacy UGM – (11/06) The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) along with a delegation of researchers was invited to participate in the 4th ASEAN PharmNET 2024 Conference. This event, held in conjunction with the 2024 US-Thai Pharmacy Education Consortium Meeting: 30th Anniversary Commemoration, was hosted by Mahidol University in Thailand. As part of the activities, the ASEAN-US Dean/Representatives Meeting was conducted as a pre-conference session. Prof. Dr. Apt. Satibi, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM, attended as a representative of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. read more
