Pharmacy UGM – On Monday, November 4, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed representatives from The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, for an academic visit and collaborative discussion to explore partnership opportunities. Held at the RSP, APSLC building Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, this event was attended by the Dean and leadership team of UGM Pharmacy, while UQ was represented by Ms. Donna Guest, International Development Manager of the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences.
Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) welcomed an honorary visit from the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Malaya, Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Hasniza Binti Zaman Huri, on Monday (4/11). This meeting was held in the Dean’s Meeting Room, Faculty of Pharmacy UGM, on the 4th floor, and attended by the Dean and the leadership team of UGM’s Faculty of Pharmacy. The visit is part of efforts to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions to support the enhancement of educational and research quality in the field of pharmacy.
Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has taken a significant step towards enhancing its academic standards by conducting a benchmarking visit to the National University of Singapore (NUS). Representing UGM were Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dr. rer.nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni Affairs. The UGM delegation was warmly welcomed by their counterparts at NUS’s Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, led by Prof. Giorgia Pastorin, Head of the Department, and Assoc Prof. Gigi Chiu, Assistant Head (Education – Postgraduate Matters).
Farmasi UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) successfully hosted a workshop for high school (SMA) and madrasah aliyah (MA) teachers from the Yogyakarta region (08/10). Held at the Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences Learning Center (APSLC), the event was part of a community service grant in collaboration with the local Association of Chemistry and Biology Subject Teachers (MGMP). A total of 71 participants, including 45 biology and 26 chemistry teachers, attended the session.
Yogyakarta, 5 September 2024 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has successfully hosted a “Hands-On Workshop: Studying Mitochondria: From Basics to Applications in Neuropathology and Other Diseases” from 2-5 September 2024. The event took place at the Advanced Pharmaceutical Science Learning Center (APSLC) building of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM, and was inaugurated by the Dean, Prof. Dr. apt. Satibi, M.Si.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Satibi warmly welcomed the visiting experts from The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (VMU), Austria, including Prof. Dr. Lars Gille, Dr. Rudolf Moldzio, and Christopher Krewenka, M.Sc. The workshop was also supported by UGM’s experts, dr. Rusdy Ghazali, Ph.D., Sp.S. from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK), and drh. Retno Murwanti, M.P., Ph.D. from the Faculty of Pharmacy, UGM. Furthermore, the event was attended online by Dr. Felix Sternberg and Dr. Catharina Duvigneau, leading experts from VMU.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the professional competence of its students, the Master of Pharmacy Management Program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada, has successfully conducted an international internship program. This year, the internship was held at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Malaya, and Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from July 15 to 19, 2024.
The program involved six representative students from UGM’s Master of Pharmacy Management (MMF) program: Ferina Septiani Damanik, Ni Putu Vyra Gynanti Putri, I Kadek Suardina, Raihana Nurul Izzah, Jane Rochmanov, and Primo Bittaqwa. These students were selected to gain hands-on experience in understanding and applying pharmaceutical management concepts in real-world settings.
Yogyakarta, August 2, 2024 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) proudly concluded the International Summer Course on Natural Cosmetics: Exploring Indonesian Beauty. This intensive three-week program, held from July 15 to August 2, 2024, was designed to offer participants a deep dive into the development of natural cosmetics, leveraging Indonesia’s abundant natural resources and the global “Back to Nature” trend. The course featured two weeks of online lectures, followed by a week of on-site activities in Yogyakarta, providing a rich blend of theoretical and practical learning experiences.
Yogyakarta, September 3, 2024 – The Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Dean of Graduate School, Faculty of Science, Universiteit Leiden, Professor Erik Danen for an institutional visit aimed at strengthening academic collaboration. The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni Affairs, Dr. rer. nat. apt. Nanang Fakhrudin, M.Si.
The visit focused on discussions regarding the implementation of the newly established Joint Doctoral Degree Program, which was launched earlier this year. The discussions also included follow-up plans for prospective students who are interested in enrolling in this collaborative academic program between the Faculty of Science at Universiteit Leiden and the Faculty of Pharmacy at UGM.

Pharmacy UGM – The Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada held the Opening Ceremony of the Summer Course 2024, titled “Exploring Indonesia Beauty,” on Monday, 15th July, 2024 via Zoom Meeting. This event offers interesting topics pertaining to pharmacy and health. The primary theme for this year is the Indonesian beauty business, especially as it relates to natural product cosmetics, covering essential knowledge, research and development, and business innovation within the cosmetic industry. Hundreds of international students from different countries with a wide range of backgrounds attended the event.
