On July 11, 2017, the Dean of Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) Professor Rosnani Hashim paid a visit to Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Gadjah Mada. It is her second visit to Yogyakarta within 2017, and she is expected to have her third visit on November by attending the 5th International Conference in Pharmacy and Advanced Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICPAPS 2017) which is organised by Faculty of Pharmacy UGM.
Professor Rosnani was invited along with her colleague Dr Izyan by the Chair of Master of Clinical Pharmacy Program Professor Zullies Ikawati to be the external examiners on her students’ viva. During the visit, Professor Rosnani and Dr Izyan were also having a discussion and knowledge sharing session which was attended by Professor Zullies Ikawati, Dr Fita Rahmawati, Dr Chairun Wiedyaningsih, Woro Harjaningsih, Sp.FRS., Apt., Mufitarina Ikawati, M.Sc., Apt., and Mawardi Ihsan, M.Sc., Apt. They discussed the rules and the assessment systems of clinical attachment in Faculty of Pharmacy UGM and CUCMS.
Professor Zullies described, “We assess the students by accumulating the score of two components which are from the report and presentation and the given score from the preceptors in the hospitals.” This invited Professor Rosnani to ask on what are the criteria of the preceptors in hospitals and what might be the challenges. Dr Fita Rahmawati responded that the current preceptors they appointed were mostly holding master degree instead of PhD degree, but they were very active and accountable. “Sometimes we cannot attend the discussion between the students and the preceptors because the hospitals are mostly situated out of town,” added Professor Zullies. Professor Rosnani suggested that they could arrange the discussion within a conference, so that both lecturers and preceptors could attend the discussion.
Professor Rosnani said, “We are also wondering if we could send our students to Faculty of Pharmacy UGM to have an exchange program.” This was gladly welcomed by the Chair of Master of Clinical Program. “It is certainly possible, hopefully soon we could have international class, but I think it is still possible as we share quite similar language,” responded Professor Zullies.
