Yogyakarta, 25 Mei 2026 — A student delegation from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has secured a brilliant national achievement by winning 3rd Place in the Pharmaceutical Industrial Case Study category at the prestigious Pharmanova ITB 2025/2026. This annual event, organized by the “Ars Praeparandi” Pharmacy Student Association of Institut Teknologi Bandung, adopted the overarching theme “Transforming Healthcare and Enhancing Well-being through Personalized Pharmacy Innovation”.

Pharmanova ITB is recognized as one of the most competitive pharmaceutical events in Indonesia, designed to capture visionary innovations from the younger generation to advance the healthcare sector. The Main Event competition was rigorously structured, starting with online preliminary rounds from November to December 2025. Following a strict evaluation of problem-solving analyses and concept designs, the UGM Pharmacy team successfully outperformed various national competitors and emerged as one of the top five finalists to advance to the offline final round at the ITB Ganesha Campus in Bandung.

In the final round, contestants were challenged to formulate creative, applicable, and strategic solutions to real-world case studies faced by the modern pharmaceutical industry. As a benefit of reaching the grand finale, the UGM Pharmacy delegates also joined an exclusive company visit to the pharmaceutical manufacturer PT Meprofarm in Bandung, gaining direct exposure to industrial operations. The event concluded with a celebratory Closing Ceremony and Awarding Night. Thanks to their sharp analytical insights and comprehensive presentation before the panel of judges, the UGM Pharmacy team successfully claimed the 3rd Place trophy.

This outstanding accomplishment further reinforces the Faculty of Pharmacy UGM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This milestone directly contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by fostering critical thinking and professional readiness outside the traditional classroom, as well as SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by cultivating young innovators equipped to deliver real-world solutions for the advancement and independence of the national healthcare industry.
