Chiba, August 5, 2025 – The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and the Chiba Cancer Center Research Institute (CCCRI), Japan, have officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) as a joint commitment to strengthen international collaboration in education, research, and the development of pharmaceutical sciences and oncology. The signing took place on August 5, 2025, at CCCRI headquarters in Chiba, Japan.
This agreement reflects the shared spirit of both institutions in building a strategic partnership that encompasses various academic and research aspects. The MoA will serve as a foundation for the implementation of several collaborative activities, including student, lecturer, and researcher exchanges; joint research projects; public lectures; seminars; conferences; and scientific symposiums. In addition, the cooperation includes faculty guest exchanges to support institutional management effectiveness, as well as the exchange of academic information and materials relevant to scientific development.
As part of the commitment to implementing this collaboration, the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy and CCCRI have agreed to jointly seek funding from various supporting institutions and to provide the necessary resources for conducting joint activities as will be regulated in further implementation agreements. Both institutions will also assign lecturers to support the implementation of activities, provide general facilities such as access to libraries and laboratories for guests from the partner institution, and offer assistance with accommodation, visas, healthcare services, and other administrative needs.
This collaboration also reflects the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through enhanced health research, academic exchange, and the development of sustainable global partnerships.
The signing of this MoA marks the beginning of a partnership that is expected to grow broader and deeper in the future. Both parties are committed to maintaining close and productive communication to achieve their shared goals and generate tangible benefits for the global community.
